Dilemma

Our planet Rests here all alone

With perhaps an empty neighborhood

Within the infinity of this universe

And yet no sign of intelligent life

Life that may comprehend us

Are we the only ones?

Are we all alone?

Or, are we not able to comprehend them?

Is it just our lack of knowledge?

Are we ignorant?

Ignoring those lives, way too preoccupied with our achievements

Is our technology really an achievement?

Or a grain of sand in the enigmatic desert

Do we overlook the fact that there are others?

Others, somewhere out of reach

Someone of our own kind, or perhaps different

We are not the only ones

But yet we exist, in deep isolation, unaware of the happenings

Are we too frail to reach them?

Are we primitive, or the distances way too huge?

Of what use then is our technology?

If we cannot reach them

Are they calling us or inviting us?

Or waiting for our help?

Are they really there?

I wonder when humanity shall come out of this dilemma?
